"With a Flip of a Knob, He Heard the Future"

Summery: This article is about Del Casher's part in a creation of something unique. The device is called the wah-wah. Casher as a studio player in the 1960s he was looking for effects and techniques that would set his guitar solos apart. When Casher created created a demo to show how the wah-wah worked, only one person was interested in the device it was a film composer, Vic Mizzy, known for writing the "Addams Family" theme. After hearing Casher at a demo session, he arranged for him to work on several movies in Universal Pictures. The device really got famous after Jimi Henrix first played it at Woodstock.

Analysis: Through this article you not only see the influence of guitar making someone want to extend the many sound effects that the electric guitar has but also it influenced Vic Mizzy, after hearing a demo session from Casher, to give him work with his device in a movie company. Thus the influence of the guitar not only effects the guitar world but also in other worlds like film production.

Reflection Question: What other types of worlds does the guitar influence?
